The fact sheet opens with the 2026 picture for oil and gas: expected global oil demand growth of 680–700 thousand barrels per day according to IEA projections, an industry structured across upstream, midstream, downstream, and services, and critical supply chain disruptions facing the sector.

It maps three challenges to SAP cloud solutions — demand volatility to SAP IBP with SAP ERP Cloud for scenario-based planning and faster replanning, logistics disruptions to SAP Logistics Business Network for multi-party visibility, exception alerts, and dynamic rerouting, and asset reliability to SAP Asset Performance Management for predictive maintenance and automated work orders — and cites results at Aker BP and S-OIL.

A phased roadmap runs from quick wins in the first six months (IBP pilots and partner connections on the Logistics Business Network), through a medium-term move to SAP ERP Cloud and Ariba for strategic sourcing, to a longer-term rollout of Asset Performance Management and sustainability controls, with data quality, process standardization, and change management as the key success factors.
