SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) is SAP's cloud-based supply chain planning suite, built on SAP HANA and integrated with SAP ERP Cloud and other ERP systems. It replaces legacy SAP APO and provides real-time, end-to-end planning across demand, supply, inventory, and Sales & Operations Planning on a single in-memory data model.
This ETS guide covers each of the six core modules with its key capabilities and reported business impact: IBP for Demand (statistical forecasting, demand sensing, segmentation, ML-based accuracy improvement), IBP for Inventory (multi-echelon inventory optimization and service-level targets), IBP for Supply and Response (constraint-based and order-based planning, aATP integration, pegging), S&OP (KPI dashboards, workflow-driven review cycles, financial alignment), Demand-Driven Replenishment (DDMRP buffers and decoupling points), and the Supply Chain Control Tower (end-to-end visibility, root-cause drill-down, predictive alerts).
It also explains the integration architecture — SAP Cloud Integration or Integration Suite, master and transactional data sync, and bidirectional plan execution with SAP ERP Cloud plus APIs for non-SAP MES, transportation, and CRM systems — the technical and analytical backbone (SAP HANA, AI/ML, SAP Analytics Cloud, Fiori), and real-world results from Schlumberger, Henkel, BASF, Weir Minerals, and Coca-Cola HBC.
